DJ STEVEN REDANT

Deep progressive tribal house with a latino twist, some Ibiza flavor and a Paris attitude...

Being an ex-promoter for Belgium’s biggest and most forward clubs, he saw all the big names of the scene passing being, some were good, worth their money, but some were to busy being a pop star rather than “just” a DJ. DJ Elias, original Ibiza DJ (Space, Privilege, Pacha, DC10, Amnesia, …) and a good friend, who told him he should “do something with music”. Because he really had “good taste of music”. This was the turning point. He stopped the promoting business and concentrated on his music. He already had a popular radio show and decided it was time to get out of his studio and into the clubs.

When Privilege asked him to stay the summer in Ibiza to play deep tribal latino house 4 times a week, Steven didn’t really realise how big this opportunity was. He was used to play for friends in Belgium, sometimes in big events, sometimes in small ones, but always for friends. Same story in Privilege; he was just playing for a friend (who happened to run the biggest club in the world).

After that summer, things really took off, with three residencies: WADklub at Queen in Paris, the most famous club of France; Red & Blue in Antwerp and La Démence, one of the most famous gay clubs of Western Europe. Now there is all that AND a full agenda on the guest circuit: the Cannes film festival, Paris fashion week, Barcelona’s infamous nightlife, Istanbul Gay Scene, London, Cologne, Montreal, New York, Miami – to name but a few - and obviously back to Ibiza.
His residency’s at the present time are La Démence in Brussels, Salvation-Brussels, GUSdeluxe parties in Queen in Paris, Pacha Ibiza, The End London, Black&Blue & TWIST in Montreal, KEN Barcelona & 34.5 in Istanbul.
With half of the time working on his DJ thing and half of the time working on his magazine (GUS). And if there is a little time left for producing he dives into the studio with musical partner DiMartino to do some production. There is always a record waiting to be released and a couple of others in the make. This Mr do-it-all is ready to take on the extra promotion and extra work to get his own music out there.

Music wise it is very hard to pin down the style. It varies from Latino to dub, from tribal to progressive, from deep to tech house. It is a mixture of his Spanish heart, his French sense of fashion, his Belgian individuality, his Dutch sense of sex and his worldly sense of unity. His music is sexy, driving, sensual, warm, pumpy and above all non-pretentious.
